Our Flagship Ciders

These ciders are available in bottle as well as keg, nearly year round.

The Brute

A pure apple cider, crafted from a blend of several locally-grown Northwest apples and fresh pressed and fermented cool to retain those distinctive apple aromatics.

On the palate we strive for depth and a pure expression of the fruit, balancing the apple’s crispness with a touch of its sweetness for a refreshing yet pleasingly complex cider.

The Guardian Angel

Our blueberry and pomegranate cider was created to celebrate the bounty of Northwest summer berries.

It offers deep garnet purple color, brambly berry notes, and fresh fruit characteristics of both the apple and blueberry, with hints of pomegranate added for a zippy kick. This cider is semi sweet, and perfectly balanced and refreshing.

*Available in bottle starting Summer 2016

These ciders are currently only distributed in keg, and availability varies seasonally.

Our Story

Friends and winemakers Anne Hubatch, Nate Wall and Kris Wall decided to partner to craft artisanal ciders utilizing winemaking techniques, and Alter Ego Cider was born.

Anne has been at the forefront of urban winemaking with Helioterra Wines, Whoa Nelly Wines and Guild Winemakers. Nate has been making wine since 2007, and in 2011 started making cider for Oregon's oldest cider producer.

Anne and Nate bring a winemaker’s focus on nuance, delicacy, and depth to their small batch production cider. Kris provides critical business management and logistics skills.
